A blended foudre beer

This beer is a blend of two foudre beers, one flavoured by an extended steeping of chuckleberries, and the other by macerating freshly-harvested plums for three months. This combination adds a breadth of flavour, without adding weight.

Light and fresh, best paired with becoming still enough that birds and flying insects are not disturbed by your presence.

Panda courtesy of mR_fr0g, cheers Fergus! Orangey amber gold colour, bubbly head and aroma of peach, citrus zest, herbal, funky. Taste is sour, tangy, fleshy plum, sweet peachy, berries, citrus fruity, zesty, with some farmhouse funk and lingering tartness. Medium bodied, light carbonation, tart sour finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle at home picked up from Cloudwater online. A clear peachy orange coloured pour with a frothy pinkish head that fades. Aroma is nice funky fuzzy peach, light mint leafs, cedar wood, light tang. Flavour is composed of mineral, tart under ripe peach, prickly berries, tart pithy , prickly woodland fruit, pinch of salt, light vinegar, prickly. Palate is sharp, mid puckering sour, spritzy carbonation. Little harsh.

Bottle. CW online. Deep dark pink. Fine bubbles of white. Nose has fresh picked dark plum. Sweet dark berry. Cut oak. Sweaty brett. Don’t know if this is wine barrel aged, but it certainly smells like it. Taste has tart and juicy bitterness. Modicum of berry sweetness. A little dry, and a little acidic. Clean and refreshing on the palate. Fine carbonation. Tart and juicy finish.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 18/02/21. Light reddish amber pour with a decent faded beige cap. Nose is tarte berry fruits, vinous twang, damp hay, grape must, berry pips. Taste comprises red grapes, light funk, berry skins, tangy berry esters, damp oak, hay bale. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light acidic tickle. Solid well balanced sour ... another win on the sour front from CW ... shows you don't have to go high boost to deliver!

On tap at Fakin Craft Bar, Zagreb. Cloudy pinkish red, lilac. Minimal head. Complex aroma beginning funky, fruity, woody. Funky yeasty, dusty and woody note with a touch of cheese. Fruit emerges in a nice balance, red fruit, sour cherry with a vinous touch. Moderate to intense sourness, vinous and funky. Puckering. Phenolic. Juicy and drinkable. Body slightly thin, finish a bit light. Sour cherry flavour, taninic, cherry juice in the finish. Nice, not as rich as expected.

Bottle at home. Beautiful deep pink/red with small pink head. Indeed some berries and plums, lovely sour wheat beer with lactic sourness and soft funk, plum pits, soft herbal grassy notes, vanilla. Medium sour, light sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lovely, very tasty and no off notes. The best Cloudwater slur I've had so far.

Fancy cloudwater bottles, fruity foeder aged ale. I don't know what chuckleberries are, but always in for a laugh. Pretty sweet, quite thick for the ABV, but some sourness underneath too. Nicely woody. Lots of plums and something raspberryish.
