Bottle 330ml (from BBF, BB 06/2018)
Dark brown color, good beige head. Aroma has light earthy notes, malts and light coffee. Medium-bodied. Flavor has similar light earthyness, but also candy sugar and prunes. Quite sweet, sweetness covers alcohol very well. Also mild citric notes. Way too restless for my liking, although has warming aftertaste and nice Belgian yeast notes.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with a foamy head. Blackcurrant, plums, brown sugar and some slightly spicy notes in the aroma. Fruity, moderately sweet and slightly roasted taste with notes of marzipan, raisins and hints of burnt toast. Nice but punches under its weight.

Sampled @ Zythos Bierfestival 2015 Trübe dunkel orangebraune Farbe, ordentliche leicht beige Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, Karamell, fruchtig, leicht holzig, so ist auch der Geschmack.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown to black with a huge off white to tan head. Aroma is fruity, wineous. Toasted malty, caramelish. Light breadish. Smooth fruity and toasted malty into the finish. Lingering fruity finish.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Sint-Jan Bruin on 15 May 2018 at 14:39 - Score: 7

Dense, quite stable cream-coloured head with a pinkish sheen over cola-coloured beer. Rich, nutty, dark malt’s nose. Som woody and chocolaty features. There seems to be iron in the head. Rich flavour & texture, with alcohol, fusels, chocolate, wood and woodstainer. Sweet with a bitterish edge. Faint blue cheese notes. Finish is quite balanced. Serious alcoholwarming; spritzy MF, but thick & voluptuous at the same time. Quite good strong ale!
