Bottle at Boreft’s’14: Hazy amber colored brew with an nice taste of caramel and the warming feel of the grappa spirit. Like this one, good beer with an spirit.

Even if the bottle rested for 1 month, it pours a cloudy opaque dull amber color with no head. Mild aroma of malt, with a whiff of vegetables, lightly fruity, alcohol. The body is strong enough but the mouthfeel is oily; the malt flavor is poor, it has a strong vegetable component, some spirit, ordinary bitterness; warming alcohol.
Similar to the common English Barley Wines; cold is drinkable, warmer is rather unpleasant.

Almost no head; fully cloudy, faintly brownish red beer. End of bottle solid yeast. Wood with acetic acid and red, sour fruit. Sweet-sourish, tannines but also - if very fleetingly - a strange salty, seafood flavour. Wood and a slight sweet-chocolate flavour. Faintly astringent, acidthinning. Not very well-bodied, obviously, and nearly uncarbonated. Nowhere as stellar as I expected it to be. Thin, bit acetic...

Bottle, at Haand Festival 2014. Almost clear in the glass, dark golden in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather boozy, with caramel and dried fruits. Too boozy actually, but still nice. The same goes for the flavor, where there’s also some resin and canned peaches. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, with a long, boozy finish with some canned peaches and dried fruits. Overall, quite lovely, even though it’s too warming. Feels way stronger than 10% ABV. 140524

Keg at Borefts beer festival day 1 26/09/2014. Clear reddy orange / caramel coloured pour with a loose halo of off white head. Aroma is caramel, sherry, orange, wood. Some light fruits on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of caramel and nutty malts, some spicy orange rind, some hot alcohol. Palate is slightly sticky on the tongue, Warming alcohol.

Bottle 375ml. [ As Toccalmatto Ombra ].Clear medium to dark orange amber color with a small, fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit, apple, alcohol - grappa, oxidide notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, caramel, alcohol - grappa, dried fruit, dried berry - apple, oxidide - wood notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140926]

Borefts VI. Bottle. Lightly hazy amber beer. Palate is light and semi dry, fine carbonation. Sweetish malts. Liqueur fruits, trace of tangerine. Mild aniseed on the back end. Spicy dry finish. Nice.
