Hop-forward beers weren’t popular when we started brewing in 1980. But we loved them, and we knew that if we were going to open a brewery, we’d better make something distinctive. It’s been 40 years since then, and we’re still brewing what we love. This beer showcases the bold flavors and aromas of a classic West Coast IPA: intense pine and citrus with a deep gold color and slight caramel sweetness. (Bottle) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy tan head. Malty, slightly hoppy nose with notes of apricots, pineapple, caramel, mango, pine needles and grass. Malty, hoppy taste with dried apricots, pineapple, white bread, mango, pine needles and a generous citric/tropical bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced.

Bottle. Almost clear golden body under an off-white head. Aroma has malt with piney and citric hops. Taste is fresh with a fine old school kind of balance between the malty base and real bitter hops, fresh and fruity, pine and marmalade. Fine body with a decent bitter aftertaste. Nothing revolutionary but well made and not so often seen style IPA by the last 5 years.

Bottle. Copper pour. Aroma of pine, soft caramel, malt, grapefruit and orange. Taste has bitter grapefruit, dry tangy pine, caramel, malt, bitter orange and a malty bitter finish. Very old school, not very complex, but quite enjoyable. Impressive that they have been going for 40 years now.

Bottle, 6.0%. Caramelly hop aroma. Hazy dark golden colour. Nice stable white head. The flavour is like the aroma, caramelly hop note. Good clean bitterness and a prickly yet creamy mouthfeel. Well-balanced.
