Matured in hand selected Dingle Distillery Bourbon and Port casks has lent this beer a unique and complex character, with a smooth, rich and intense flavour. The rich roast and full bodied flavour of the stout is accentuated by the sweet warmth of the Bourbon and the dry fruitiness of the Port.

Heavy whiskey here. Some roast malt and a little coffee. Pours syrupy black. Some booze, some tang. Finishes light bitter. Bottle thanks to Liam.

Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Fairly dry palate. Dry wood dominates the otherwise smooth dark malt. Trace of vanilla. Dry finish with a little spice and minerals. Quite aggressively barrelled - US style!

Januar bonus @Sørens. Black with a small off-white head. Aroma of vanilla and dried fruit, a roasted note and a little sweet licorice. Sweetish malty flavour with licorice, chocolate and dried fruit, bourbon and vanilla oak notes and reasonably drying roasted flavour. Very well balanced for a barrel aged imperial stout

Bottled (from Beers Of Europe). Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is sweet wood, liquorice, mild tobacco and mild nutty notes. Flavour is liquorice, toffee, mild ashes, tobacco and some slight notes of alcoholic sweetness and tar as well. Mild vanilla. A bit sticky sweet, but otherwise quite nice.

Bottle @ Jacob. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla, light whisky. Flavour of malts, chocolate, coffee, strong notes of whisky and oak, vanilla, booze. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice but abit to dominated by the barrel agening. 280912

Bottle. It’s a clear-looking dark brown beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has a little touch of whiskey, some vanilla, roasted malts, dark chocolate and some coffee. Booze, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts in the flavor. Some bitterness. Quite dry, yet with a residual sweetness. Lasting finish with chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Nice indeed, but I think I prefer the regular edition. 120915

Bottle at home - April ’12. Very dark brown verging on black with a thin tan head. Definate whisky aroma floating on the nose allied to dark roasted malts, dark fruits and a pinch of vanilla and a dash of cocoa. Fairly full in body with a good alcohol burn in the finish. I was impressed by this one!

Shared bottle at local tasting, as Porter House Barrel Aged Collection Celebration Stout, Limited Edition. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, thick brown head. Oaky and vinous aroma, notes of vanilla and Irish whiskey. Strong oaky, vanilla and whiskey flavour, some chocolate too. Excellent beer.
