Envy Imperial Pilsner obsessively desires to be better than the world’s most common lager. Envy vies for attention with its beautifully bright, golden color and tightly-formed crown. Intense yet true pilsner malt provides the perfect base for profuse citrus, floral and spicy hop flavor. Envy achieves distinction, making other beers turn green.

Bottle shared by Bob, thanks! Pours a hazy burnt orange with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of cardboard and bread with a bit of sweet grains underlying. Flavor has bread and cardboard with earthy grains and some straw.

This was absolutely undrinkable astringent and bitter . .sure it s too old, but imperial pils shouldn't exist

bottle from jsquire at the Fort Wayne tasting - I’d never had a beer from Alaska and he brought both a beer and a mead, so thanks for that. Pours golden with a light citrus and pale malt aroma. The pale malts are balanced in the flavor by a generous dose of crisp hops. The latter comes through especially well in the finish. It could be better, but this seldom brewed take on a pilsner is enjoyable.

Thanks to goldtwins for bringing this to JoeMcphee’s place for CaptainCougar come to NY gathering. Dark golden, thick looking and medium clarity. Aroma is cat pee, sweet in general with apple. Strong and sweet. Taste is bitter grass backed with a strong lager-sweetness, weird, and ehhh. Just a weird strong pils, not vibing with me.

Thanks to goldtwins for sharing - cloudy orange beer with a foamy head - orange marmalade and herbal tea aroma, with strong honey and flower notes - overly sweet, orange blossom honey flavor - hops come on strong to crush the initial sweetness, but don’t integrate well with the sweetness, fruity notes and floral flavors, making the beer, at times, remind me of scented soaps - needs more balance.
