Draft. Ehh. Sort of a dark ale w/strong taste of malt, finsihes with some hops. Started off interesting, but didn’t end that way.

Bottle. Pours an opaque, amber-ruby with a fluffy, beige head. Light aroma of sweet malts, caramel, and brown sugar. Flavor is a tad metallic, but also holds some warm brown sugar. A touch of bitterness - you would probably notice if the hops weren’t there, but as is this is mostly a malt show. Semi-sweet and syrupy in the finish. Medium-light in body, well carbonated. The character shines a bit more as the beer warms. Decent overall.

Deep orange/amber with a small, yet lasting off-white head. Caramel aroma. Lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Overall, thin and boring.

Tap at Brickhouse, to clear things up Blue Point actually brews everything for the Brickhouse. Poured into a pint glass, color is very dark pale, complete clarity. Aroma is slightly burnt, slightly sweet. Very ESB-ish, british quality. Similar aspect in the taste, a bit watered down though. A perfectly light medium body for this kind of beer. Decent enough and very quafable. I wonder how this would taste on cask.

[growler] This is quite a sweet amber ale, but balanced just enough to keep it from being too much so - slick mouthfeel with lots of caramel malt, nut and chocolate flavors - this is pretty damn good for a gimmick beer.

This contract brew was at Brewtopia. It is brewed currently at Blue Point in Patchogue, NY, on Long Island. The ads feature alien bartenders, which weren’t that creative but I got a kick out of them. The beer is a dark amber ale, served bright. The aroma has a slight cherryish note, and a few toasty malts. The palate is clean, slightly syrupy, with a few scattered orange notes. Fairly well-balanced, leaning slightly more to the malt, but with enough bitterness to be taken seriously. I know a contract-brewed amber ale doesn’t sound good on paper, but it’s worth checking out.
