Bottle. A brown, almost flat beer, just some dark beige bubbles on top. The aroma is pretty vinegar-ish, with roasted notes and caramel hints. Raisins too. The flavor has lots of acidity, with a roasted touch, dried fruits and some lemon. Sort of woody in the far back, but it’s the vinegar that is most evident. Full to medium body, dry and quite flat on the palate. Roasted finish with a lot of vinegar. Hides the alcohol well this one, but it doesn’t really help, it’s still nothing near wonderful. 140228

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Almost opaque dark brown beer, bubbly tan head. Flemish red sour nose. Touch of balsamic vinegar. Palate is smooth with modest fine carbonation. Smooth malt, slightly sweet. Taste is not as strong as the nose but delivers that Flemish sourness. Tangy dark fruits. Mild wood. Pinch of salt before a light finish. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours hazy deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is tangy, red wine vinegar, coconut, vanilla, vinous, mild acidity and grape skin. The taste is mellow, plum, red grape, wood, earth, mild tartness, tangy fruit, soft alcohol, light acidity and salted caramel with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and soft mouth-feel. Smooth and well-integrated. Rather nice.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - thanks to Kenneth for this one. Pours unclear brown with a bubbly beige head. The nose holds damp wood, sour and ripe berries, cherry, sweat. Light to medium sweet flavor with restrained sourness, mild acetic tang, berries, dirt. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty well balanced to finish, faint vinegar, some raspberries, wet wood. Drinks pretty good.
