Big thanks to Tom to bringing this to The Sour Share. Pours an amber with small creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, cherry skin, and caramel. Medium mouth tart cherry, light funk, oak, very complex, really enjoyed this one.

Immense aroma of oak, with light whiskey notes. Clear amber, thin head. Sour woody flavor, light whiskey. Tart malt finish. By far the woodiest sour I’ve ever had.

Sampled this over the RBSG weekend, I believe Jeff cracked this. Poured a hazy dark brown with a huge light brown head that dissipated slowly. Aroma was a dark with grains and some dark tart fruits. Flavor began with a bit of sweet dark grains but tart fruits quickly took over leading to quite a tart finish.

750ml bottle at the DC local tasting. Pours a translucent, chocolate brown with a frothy, creamy, tan head. Aroma is musty, spicy, fruity, apples, pears. Flavor is sweet, grainy, hay, grass, light funk. Finish is dry. Just a little bland.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly tart malty aroma with some toasted hints and hints of caramel. Fruity malty and slightyly tart flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty tart finish.

So I’ve been saving this for a while for this particular \"blue Sunday.\" Call it the end of summer, the beginning of new things that are good and bad, call it what you will, but today is the end of a few good things, so a little depressed, this is my condolence beer for the evening. (Although I should add that blue on the label refers more to blue laws than sad things.)
We’re off to a great start as the F*$&(#*&@’ing cork breaks and then won’t come out in spite of all the strength of a sad and slowly angering man. As I stand the bottle pinned between my knees and pull up with all my might, I think, \"Maybe New Holland should work on their system a little.\" I fear the cork will suddenly come loose and allow myself the pleasure of punching myself in the face with a corkscrew, but I manage to avoid disaster.
Finally. Pour is a dark reddish brown with a massive head. Aromas of cola, sour cherries, malt vinegar, oak and musty basement. There’s a little bit of a rubbing alcohol edge to the aromas. First sip reveals a pretty good sour... it has an odd dusty mouthfeel and is a little over-carbonated, but it’s still got a nice mix of sour cherries and oak. The alcohol from the aroma shows up (to the detriment of the palate) and wreaks a bit of havoc with the blending of flavors (is this a pretty high ABV sour? It seems so.)
Anyhow, I’m back with an update. As this warms and breathes, it gets much better. The astringency seems to burn off and the only drawback is that the oak is a little too dominant and gives a bit of a biting woodsy bitterness.

Bottle Pours out a amber topped with a bubble sand head. Aroma was of sweet blueberries and raspberries aswell. A nice little cherry and some oak. Tast was of fruit tons of berries on this one. A nice fruit roll up tast even. Thanks Toby for this one.

Murky deep orange-brown body, medium buff/tan, persistent, clumping head. Tangy, tart nose, like cranberries or cranberry sauce. Tart, sharply carbonated body, with grape or raisin notes, toast, and spice. Not especially funky or sour. Smooth, quaffable. Pretty good.

One of the better products from New Holland. Oddly, some smoke in the aroma. Fruit and malt flavor. No hops preceivable in this beer. A little sour with yeast. Low carbonation.

Thanks to mibirder for this - very foamy amber ale - extremely over carbonated - smells earthy and woody, with some overripe fruit and a slight vegetal character - some chocolate and cherry skins underneath - very mildly sour and tart, with some chocolate-covered cherry kind of flavor - a little bit of brininess underneath - not a lot of complexity, but the flavor is decent - a tiny bit acidic in the finish - this might get a little better with age, but now it’s simply okay.
