Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange to amber color with a sly crispy looking ruddy lace after a thin white foamy head dissipated.
The aroma held a semi-burnt sly caramel to bready malt, slightly grassy in the hoppiness, somewhat bitter and pushing the hops to be forward but mostly staying in the background.
The flavor lends to the hand of semi-sweet to a crisp subtle bitter. Keeping that malt mainly wanting a sly sweet, but really bready. Aftertaste of some nuts and caramel and toffee. Crisp sweet to toasty and roasty sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation.
Overall, good amber ale for the most part that I could come back to.

Woo hoo, 1st rater! Growler from Spotty Dog. Pours a very murky, deep dark amber color, almost dark red cherry colored. Cannot see through it. Thats basically where my appeal ended with this beer. It was not bad, no off flavors, no faults. My issue is it was just bland and blasé. The OG seemed to be a bit high and masked the hops and yet the malts come off watery as well. I could see this beer getting better as the brewers keep messing around with it.
