The pleasant, dark Doppelbock of monasterial origin, especially suited for festivities during the chilly season.
Typical for the Maximator is the full-bodied, pithy and pronounced body, coated with a fine and velvety refraction.
Due to the use of dark malt produced in the barn malt house, the light sweetness is surrounded by toasty cocoa notes.
The finish is smooth, with a lingering note of dark chocolate.

11.2 fl oz. bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a chestnut brown with a finger of beige head that dissipates. Note of leather, toffee, smoke and dark chocolate. Palate is very similar, smooth and silky. Lingering toffee, smoke and fruited chocolate on the finish. Very nice doppelbock.

Bottle. Dopplebock was one of my original loves - found this at random and had to have. Lovely flavor and true to form.

Bottle from Bottle Baron (2018) and House Of Trembling Madness (2023 and 2026). Clear ruby/amber body with a thin beige head that slowly fades. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raisins, hard candy, malt loaf and toffee. Flavour of prunes, vine tomatoes, caramel and brown bread. Medium body with a slick, slightly sticky mouthfeel. Light fizz. A tasty beer, sweet and moreish.

Backlog November 2013. Dark amber body under a small off-white head. Aroma seems to have this kind of sweetness with malt, dry fruit and caramel. Taste is sweet like aroma with malt, caramel, dry fruit and low bitterness. Fine body with long, lasting sweet aftertaste. Nice.

Tap at Museumsstüberl. Dark clear chestnut. Roasted, nuts, caramel, some edge, fruity. Juicy chewy, but a bit harsh, roasted. Then buttery roasted caramel, slightly sticky, sweet. Missing the fluff, and could be a bit fuller, rounder. Not undrinkable.

pours clear amber with a small, quickly fading head. Toasted toffee malt aroma. Flavor is of roasted malt and toffee. It’s very malty without being overly sugary. They’ve got the balance right. There’s some mild hops in the finish. Very good.

Bottle at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours dark ruby with a small cream head. The aroma has malts, nuts and gingerbread. In the mouth it is slightly bitter with a creamy texture. Malts to the fore again here, alongside dark fruit, raisins, plums, rye, toffee and alcoholic strength. A little dryness in the finish. This is decent.
