  Bock - Doppelbock Winter
Score
7.19
ABV: 7.5% IBU: - Ticks: 202
The pleasant, dark Doppelbock of monasterial origin, especially suited for festivities during the chilly season.

Typical for the Maximator is the full-bodied, pithy and pronounced body, coated with a fine and velvety refraction.

Due to the use of dark malt produced in the barn malt house, the light sweetness is surrounded by toasty cocoa notes.

The finish is smooth, with a lingering note of dark chocolate.

11.2oz bottle at Ferchs. Who knows how old it is, but it holds up well enough. More drinkable than most US or German examples. Toffee caramel red fruit malt richness, but almost like a thicked out Oktoberfest. Really good.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown but going into autumnal red. Cream to tan head. Nose - malt loaf, stewed fruits and toffee. Taste - toffee, a little raisin and general maltiness. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy and chewy through middle and finish. Sweet but not as sweet as most from this style. Overall - great doppelbock.

Big, rich malt aroma. Slightly hazed chestnut with garnet highlights. Taupe head that leaves a big collar. Taste follows flavor with wonderful rich malt. Dark fruit.
