The beer is a deep golden color, nearly amber. The liquid is somewhat cloudy, and there’s a fair bit of sediment. The head is medium to large and white in color. Lots of lacing. Good retention. The aroma is heavy on grapefruit, pineapple and orange. Medium strength malt character contributes a mix of caramel and bubblegum sweetness. Some booziness is evident. The taste starts out with some nice hop flavor on top of that sweet malt. A pleasant mix of pale malt sugariness and tropical fruit hops with a little peachiness. However, the the bitterness picks up quickly and things get somewhat bland. It’s just a bit heavy on the grapefruit rind and pine resin. Mild caramel. The beer finishes drier but the aftertaste is bitter without much in the way of delicacy. Mouthfeel is pretty light for the abv. A bit sticky at first. Carbonation seems a touch low. It’s a nice enough beer but doesn’t have the depth and complexity of some (D)IPAs.

From a can dated 01/07/2015. Aroma is very hop forward with a light cracker malt and slight caramel note in the background and hints of alcohol. Lots of citrus, especially grapefruit and orange. Lighter stone fruit and tropical fruit with some moderate hop resin and light pine to balance out the citrus and fruit. Pours a cloudy copper orange with a moderately sized, medium thick, slightly off-white head that shows good retention as it recedes to the edges where it lingers. Medium lacing and moderate legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with a hint of crackers and biscuits and a light caramel note. High bitterness with some alcohol spice in the finish. Lots of hop flavor, similar profile to the aroma, but the malt is a bit more noticeable. Citrus, tropical and stone fruit and resin. Slight stickiness in the finish, but fairly dry. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice IPA. Lots of hop aroma, but I think it could use a bit more in the flavor. I like that it isn’t too malty and the alcohol is fairly well hidden.

Bottle at Craig’s. Sweet, malty, huge hop flavour but a bit too dry and bitter on the finish.

Can - Great piney and caramel notes. Cloudy gold with a rich beige head. Pine and a little resin with a nice caramel balance. A pretty decent beer.

Can thanks to Secret Santa! Pours a clear orange with a golden hue with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet citrus with a light bitterness and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor combines citrus rind and sweet citrus with a touch of resin and a sweet grain backbone.

Can @ home from Local Swap World Wide Edition, thanks to nimbleprop. Clear orange golden color, medium sized off-white head that diminishes quickly. Aroms is heavy: over the top hops, huge pine and spruce, moderate to heavy maltyness and sticky resin. Taste is heavy malty, insane hoppyness, insane pine and spruce, firm to very bitter and heavy resin. Sticky texture, full body, medium carbonation. I think it’s a little too much, a little too far over the top, but I still like the piney bitter that is so dominantly present.

Can: Poured a light amber color ale with a nice foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney notes are quite intense but still very enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by citrus and piney notes with some floral notes but not as much as I had expected with a little bit of residual sugars. Body is full with good carbonation. Well brewed and quite enjoyable but maybe not up to those super floral Vermont IPAs.
