Our interpretation of a Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with oats, malted wheat, and unmalted raw wheat for a hazy, “white” appearance. Spiced with our own special blend of coriander and Curaçao orange peel, Allagash White is both complex and refreshing. Though it’s brewed in Maine, the recipe sticks to its Belgian roots.

Pours yellow and hazy with a thick white head. Aroma of full-bodied wheat. Tastes like wheat with very well balanced influences of spice. Palate includes nutmeg, cloves and very subtle hints of coriander. Good witbier.

Bottle from The Ace Hotel (2018) and can from Against The Grain (2024). Hazy pale golden body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon and coriander. Flavour of salted grapefruit, tonic water, coriander and watermelon rind. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. Really crisp and refreshing. Loved this.

bottle. clear yellow, small white head. flowery slightly spicy aroma, like a belgian blonde. a little bit of rubber in there too. flavor is flowery, slightly herbal, slightly yellow fruity, again, like a belgian blonde, does havee a bit of wheat in it, but it is not very prominent. Taste is quite good, i like it if i had expected a blonde, but if i had expected a witbeer i would be disappointed due to the lack of wheat and citrus. There is a little bit of banana, but that i would more expect from a weissbier.

Slightly unclear pale golden colour, good frothy white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Aroma wheat, lemon, cloves, coriander. Taste light sweet, a bit bitter and light acidic, wheaty, lemon, lemon grass notes. Dry mild fruity finish, spicy notes, light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, nice witbier.

Bottle @ home. Hazy pale yellow colour with a huge white head. Smells and tastes pretty much like a witbier should taste. I’m glad there’s not a coriander overkill. Thin to medium body and really low carbo. Still not my favorite type of beer, but I can enjoy this one.
