First brewed back in 2004, Curieux was our initial foray into barrel aging. To make Curieux, we take our Tripel and let it age in bourbon barrels for six-to-eight weeks. Once that time is up, we take the beer out of our cold cellars and blend it back with a portion of fresh Tripel. The resulting rich, golden ale features smooth notes of coconut, vanilla, and a hint of bourbon.

12 ounce bottle bought as part of a delivery from Raynville Superstore and drunk at home. Pours light gold with a little bit of haze and a sizaeable ring of white head. Candy sugar on the nose with Belgian yeast, woody and linen character. Gorgeous taste, sweet with that lovely yeast sitting on my tongue, some oak, barley, light citrus. Light body with carbonation on the heavy side. I hope this never ends. My word.

Pour is a hazy gold with a large white head. Aroma is like white wine with some faint whiffs of the oak. Flavor is way more of the oak barrel with some vanilla and a nice spice and yeast ester. Finish has just a touch of alcohol and some bourbon is left on the tongue. This is good stuff with a perfect mix of Belgian and bourbon.

Lys gulbrun lett tåkete med hvitt skum. Lukter brød, smør og belgisk gjær. Middels lang.

Draft @ ginger man. Poured an orangey amber with little head. Woody and fruity, pretty clean.

0,355 flaske fra statens rikholdige utvalg av støttemidler, hjemme: nesten helt klar lys gylden med tett skum som varer. Delikat aroma og innsmigrende smak med krydder, eik/vanilje, bourbon og florale toner. Krydder og appelsin i avslutningen. Selv om det i disse merkelige og skremmende tider på ingen måte er pk å kjøpe varer fra USA, er jeg ikke betenkt med å kjøpe flere flasker av dette sofistikerte brygget. De er forhåpentligvis anti-Trump hele gjengen på bryggeriet.
