Careful now! Not quite our secret weapon, but a very discreet one. Stylish, strong, seductive. And it needs to be handled with care. We mentioned strong? Well, yes, it weighs in at a hefty 6.5% ABV so it’s not exactly a session ale; this is not a pint of mild. But it’s like a V12 engine in a sleek body - it handles well if treated with respect. Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

20 cl. draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Dark amber, textbook with an off-white head. Nose is hoppy, like a brutal bitter, very herbal hop profile with some hay coupled with caramel malts, brown sugar sweetness but 0 balance. Taste is very bitter herbs, lots of herbs but getting only bitter herbal hops, bitter hay hops, boozy feels very strong, with burned caramel, brown sugar malts but once again no balance, more herbs in the back in the sweetness. Boozy. Quite oily body. This feels like a bitter on steroids but honnestly I do not get the point of that. It is not a bad drink.

Draft @ Hoppy Loft. Correcte.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear copper brown, thin white head. Aromas of toffee, British hops - spicy and earthy, burnt sugar. More sweetness on the taste. Bit sticky, and a short sweet finish. OK.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Quite anaemic and expressionless aroma, some bitter hop with good will. Taste is minimally sweet malty, a touch of dry roasty notes, bitter hoppy overtones. Nicely balanced, but somehow weak, strenghtless and softish.
