Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Canned in New Zealand. Clear orange with medium white head. Citrus with some grassy notes, malty backbone with touch of caramel, moderate bitterness in finish.

Nice citrus nose, grapefruit and oranges, a bit muted though. Soft carb, good mouth feel. Nice juicy, sweet, citrus finish, with touches of pine. Medium bitterness, and a solid malt backbone.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.3%. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Wonderful aroma of tropical fruits, crushed white grapes, citrus and crushed gooseberries. The flavour is a burst of fruity New Zealand hops, also with resinous notes, on a medium sweet malty base. Bitter finish, long and very bitter aftertaste, but not too extreme. Excellent beer!

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper-orange with a large, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet fruity aroma of caramel malt, mandarin, mango, peach, passion fruit, honeydew, orange, grapefruit and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, orange, grapefruit, mandarin, peach, mango, passion fruit, honeydew, pine needles and floral in a dry, bitter, spicy hop finish. Medium body with a sticky, oily texture and average carbonation. Delicious, very enjoyable.

Many thanks for this amazing hoppy IPA to Jacek Wigier (wineofdreams@gmail.com). Ach ten NZ chmiel. Kiedy mialem doczynienia z chmielem NS, juz nie pamietam, ale mile wspomnienia wrocily, 70 IBU czuc konkretnie niczym benzyne podczas nalewania do baku paliwa na stacji benzynowej, odjechane niesamowicie, mozna pokusic sie o twierdzenie ze to Double IPA. piana spora, trwala, mglista bursztynowa barwa, posmak zywiczny, bardzo kwiatowy, lipa, rumianek, rozmarym, Super i faktycznie smakuje jak wino Outlook Bay Marlborough P.G.R. tyle ze plus zywiczny lupulinowy chmiel.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours slightly hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is tropical fruits (melon, kiwi), caramel, gooseberries, a little vinous. Taste is sweet malt, tropical fruits, pine, strong bitter finish. Very decent.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Amber coloured, small off white head. Aroma is fruity, tropical fruit, mango, and lots more, bit of biscuit too. Taste is juicy, tropical fruit again, sweetness at the front then a bit of a bitter kick at the end. Nice and malty too. Good stuff.

Half litre on tap at Hungry Wolf's, Chiang Rai. Medium white head. Hazy golden pour. Lovely bitterness. Very nice indeed
