Tradition meets progress with this classic beer. The flavour of Liefmans Oud Bruin, dating back to 1679, is derived from special malts matured in open vats and matured for between four and eight months. The fermentation is then restarted by mixing older and younger beers together, leading to a more balanced and consistent flavour.

Bottle at home. Clear dark brown with very short lasting fizzy white head. Dried apricot, light balsamico, red berries, soft wood, dead leaves. Light grainy and brown sugar but not in a sweet way. Almost medium sour and very light sweet. Under medium bodied with fizzy carbonation and a bit dry feel. Better than I expected.

Acid, Acid and more acid, no sugar, wine aroma, grappe and totally acid. Good I love this taste. To swiadczy o długim dojrzewaniu w butelce.

Clear chestnut brown colour, two finger frothy beige head, half-way lasting, good lacing. Aroma is vinegar, caramel, sour cherries, bit wood. Taste medium sweet and sour, fruity, some vinegar. Mild sourish finish, medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, pleasant and drinkable Sour/Brown Ale.

Thanks to Rian for sharing. Nice sweetish sour beginning. Wood, fresh. Sweetish sour on a moderate basis. Easy to drink though and still fruity and deep. Wood in the aftertaste, round and nice.
