Bottle at Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Pours dark brown with a foamy, tan head; the head creams up very nicely. Dusty cocoa nose with some dirt. Medium sweet flavor, lightly roasty, with some dark cocoa, toasted leaves, some light caramel and dark, sugary bread, and mild dark fruits. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation, and it’s creamy, massaging. Mild sticky sweet finish with plenty of dusty cocoa, some light and dirty earthy bitterness. Light a nice, sweet Belgian brown ale. Not as sweet with caramel as a dubbel, though. Good one.

Bottle. Dark, but not black, rather dark, dark brown. Finger-thick, dense, dark beige head. Roasted malts, sweet licorice and a fruityness in the aroma, sort of sweetish. Sweet on the palate, with licorice, roasted notes and a fruityness. Smooth and nicely carbonated. A quite pleasant one, but there’s a slighlty unclear touch all the way. 110614
