Cette Gruut Blond est une blonde sans prétention, qui se laisse boire mais sans être en quoi que ce soit marquante : une bière sans relief qui n'est là que pour être désaltérante. En verre, nous sommes sur un blond doré, paré d'un léger voile. Il n'y a quasiment aucune mousse à la surface. Le nez est sur les céréales et les agrumes avec une touche herbacée. Pas la panacée. L'attaque est relativement insipide avec une touche de miel. La deuxième laisse entrevoir des arômes d'agrumes accompagnés de miel et d'épices sur une arrière bouche linéaire. On s'ennuie, mais ça se laisse boire. Le final, un peu court nous en apprendra pas davantage. L'alcool à 5,5 % est tout de même honnête, mais on s'ennuie quelque peu.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy blonde with white fine foam. Aroma is sweet, fruity, with a strange finish seemingly like tuna fish (??). Body is somehow dense worth limited carbonation. Taste is sweet, with limited bitterness. Finish is relatively short.

Aroma: Grains, barley, yeast.
Taste: Barley, yeast, sweet. A bit sickly.

Bottle from Hemelvaart, Ayton. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of Belgian yeast esters, dough and spice. Taste is bready, sweet. Spicy linger.

Sample at the brewery. Pale color thin white head persistent. Aroma pleasantly malty, cereals backed by balsamic herbs, with white flour, lavender, fresh flowers. Very refreshing with a citric tone. Resembles a wit somehow. Nice clean finish, light bitterness, medium sweet. Great well cold for summertime.
