Fresh, fruity and floral notes give way to touches of caramel sweetness, while its superb, lingering aftertaste continues to tantalise the tastebuds long after. Here’s to a great-tasting, refreshing beer!

Hazy pale, small head. Nice hop aroma. Light hop bitterness, not long finish. Thin texture, soft carbonation.

Keg tap at the Royal Standard, Cambridge. Golden, hazy, finely carbonated. Decent-sized foamy white head. So far so good. Gentle yeast and citrusy hop aroma shot through with lavender, rosewater and paper mulch. Weird. Tastes even weirder... Bitter and slightly sour. Unbalanced. Not altogether bad but certainly messy. Long bitter aftertaste bordering on acrid. A hard beer to rate. Has its nice points, but falls short of what I’d expect for an IPA.

Bouteille: Deep golden, almost clear, lively carbonation, smaller, stable white creamy head; yeasty-grainy nose, turpentine and medical hops detectable; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, rough MF and pretty light bodied; dryish yeasty and piney-hoppy finish. Sigh, the regular Duvel is better…

Bottle from Taniguchi. Citrus nose, mostly oranges, some biscuity malt, lightly spicy yeast, slightly peppery, a bit or over-ripe mango. Slightly hazy orange-gold, lots of carbonation, low fine head. Rather dry flavor, but with a bit of bready malt, grass, lemon. Highly carbonated, almost spritzy. Decent enough.
