Rich, dark and complex, the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour. It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops.

Burk från SB. Mörkbrun/svart med krämig moccafärgad krona. Rostat, nästan lite nötigt, mycket av både salt- och sötlakrits och tydlig lakritsprofil, choklad, kaffe. Smakrik.

Opaque dark brown with ruby shimmer, small tan frothy head, fine mousse, disappears quickly to thin film, good stringy lacing. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, hint of nuts, liquorice, earthy. Soft flavour, medium sweet and malt bitter, chocolate, roasted coffee, nuts and some vanilla in combination with earthly bitter undertones. Creamy texture, medium body without being as heavy as it appears, soft carbonation. Taste continues in finish with growing bitterness, well-balanced beer, tasty.

Bottle. Licorice and chocolate milk in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with chocolate, coffee and licorice. Just a tad thin and onedimensional, but a delicious beer.

Bottle from Waitrose, West Byfleet. Rich coffee and gravy aroma cut through with sour berries. Dark. Glossy. Cola tint. Thick foamy beige head. Light bitter. Sour berries before sweet creamy coffee comes through. Mesium bodied. Creamy. Flat-average carbonation. Long of low key finish. Enjoyable stuff. I appear to have enjoyed the cask version more.
