Draft @ Delirium Taphouse, Brussels.

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a clear brown hued body with a small tan head. Aromas almost have a bit of bourbon in them. Some high ABV nasal burn, maple, marzipan, melanoidins, brown sugar, nutty, lightly raisinated. Flavors are boozy, bitter and sweet, slightly faded. Caramel, melanoidins, boozy, thick and syrupy with a sweet finish.

A dark clear brown ale with a thin off white head. An aroma of burned caramel, fusel alcohol, and mashed peas, a bit unpleasant. In mouth, sweet candy sugar, astringent notes, a bit of boiled vegetables. More or less good. Tasted early April 2007.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep brown color bock with a huge foamy head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with too much sugar for my own taste. Taste is dominated by cardboard notes (oxidized) with some over the top sweet. I could also detect some dry fruits notes which I am sure would have been great had they not been dominated by the cardboard and the sweetness.

Bouteille 341ml.
