Bottle. Reddish brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is raisins, some sweet figs, malts and mild spiciness. Flavour is caramel malts, some sweet dried fruits, figs, plum and mild raisins. Easy going.

Reddish brown colour, beige head. Sweet aroma, caramel and butter. Sweet flavour, very sweet actually. Some caramel and malts. Sweet caramel finish.
Quite boring beer, but drinkable.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013. Dark brown with a small mocha head. Smell is BE hops, floral, dark fruits, sweet chocolate, lightly milky, milk choc. Taste is a bit watery, light cardboard, grainy, coffee, grounds, milk chocolate, overripe fruits & some herbs. Touch too light, grainy,… Agreeable and bland & not really experimental flavour-wise in my book.

Sample @ Brugge Bierfest ’13.

Draught Towering dark beige head over ruby-amber shot dark beer, and in fact, more lace than beer. Liquorice, dark bread, bit sweetish smelling, but also dry straw and dried hops. Very dry, near empty flavour. Active coal, liquorice - if especially retronasal. Light sourish onset of each sip. Very slick, if not very well-bodied. Abbey beer, and a (relatively) empty flavour? Difficult to reonciliate, IMO. I would, OTOH, accept this as a good sweet stout...
