(Bottle) Dark reddish brown colour with big, frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, crisp-bread, blueberries, dried fruit (raisins, dates) and brown sugar. Malty, roasted taste with notes of crisp-bread, raisins, dates, coffee, brown sugar, some pine needles and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Not quite as bitter as suspected, actually more chocolate and coffee than pine needles and grapefruit. But really tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

(330ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 12 2016) Pours black with a thick head of medium tan foam that lasts well. Aroma of sweet dark malts, chocolate, mango, dank leafy hops, light to moderate roast, resinous pine, dark bread. Flavour is again rather malt-driven with thick dark toffee, chocolate, cake, pine, toasted malt, mango, orange, weed. Finish has moderate roasted malt, coffee and pine bitterness. Medium-full bodied, smooth carbonation. Solid, balanced black IPA, bit of a hoppy porter feel.

0,33l bottle at home. Bottled 03.08.2016, BB 03.02.2017. black color, very fine bubbly rather big coffee-colored head. smells earthy, bit leathery, some exotic fruits, spices, nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, exotic fruits, mango, some caramel, pines, lightly astringent, licorice. finishes lightly earthy bitter with notes of mango, caramel and some licorice. very nice one, lovely balance, easy drinking.

Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, weeds, old leafs, roasted grain, lawn, minerals, old moss, wet hay, paper, hints of caramel and licorice. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, old leafs, paper, dark malts, harsh hops, old lawn, cardboard, pine needles, hints of soap. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

330 ml bottle at Craftbeer Corner, Cologne. Black color with beige head. Hoppy and roasted malty aroma, grass, grapefruit, pine, licorice, light coffee, caramel. Sweet and heavy bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Beers’n’more. Grassy hops with a little roast aroma. Lots but very smooth and silky carbonation leading into sweet-ish stout-ish blackness. Medium body. Grassy hops are present throughout, even on the palate. A bit juicy, relaxed bitterness. Nice balance though. Beautiful!

100 ml sample, courtesy of Maersk. Dark brown, almost black. (Just) hoppy aroma, dank and catty with notes of white wine (?). The taste is also mostly hoppy, yet with a light but clear velvety chocolate note. Smooth mouth feel. Excellent.
