Black colour, tan head. Smell of malts, dried fruits, light sour, caramel, loads of roasted malts. Flavour of roasted malts, coffee, hops and ash. Finish is light sweet and bitter coffee. Overall a big smack in the face. And the 333th rating of the beer. Just my kind of humour.

650ml bottle I brought @ ZZT III. Pitch black color, medium to full creamy light brown head. Smell malts, dark malts, roastyness, caramel. Taste malts, dark malts, roasted malts, alcohol, coffee, bitter, lightly hops. Nice mouthfeel, suitable carbo, full body.

Bottle thx to benzai@zzt3. Pitch black, opague with a nice off-white head. Smells malts, roasty, coffee and hops. Tastes sweet, coffee, roasty, chocolate and hoppy. Full, thick palate with a nice carbo.

Medium, slightly irregular, foxy cream-to-tan head over black beer. Intense roasted aroma, chocolate biscuits, cigarette ashes, coffee dregs. Outspoken burnt/roasted flavour, with an intense spirit-like finish. Finish has further a hint at peperkoek sweetness, and liquorice retronasal. Sharp, burning MF, alcohol strenghtening. Warming up, first a peppery impression, later serious hints at coriander. All subtlety carefully avoided. Go for the brutal punch!

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, molasses, alcohol warmth, light roasted notes, pleasant. Pretty good for a 10 year old beer.

My first beer from this company. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black/brown color with a small beige head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was dryish and toasty with notes of cocoa and wood. The flavor was dryish, roasty, woody and very roasty with fairly strong cocoa followed by more bitter roasty, a touch of sherry and a wallop of sharp floral hops and windex. The finish was long, dry, roasty and woody. Medium body. Disappointing.

Bottle in Philadelphia. Pours brownish black. Thin, quickly dissipating off white head. Strong bourbon aroma with oak, vanilla, roast coffee and roasted chocolate malts. Taste is good, but pretty standard and a letdown after the terrific nose. Medium body.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt flavours and cofffee. Flavour begins with roasted and burnt malts, with coffee notes hitting later on. Slightly bitter hop and roasted malt on the finish. Wonderful.

A big stout with a fantastic burnt malt flavor. The beer is one percent brown and the rest black. The head is a mocha cushion that puffed right up in my glass. I poured a good sized head that stuck around well. The nose is sweetly burnt malt. The notes are burnt toast, bitter dark chocolate, sweet whiskey and sugar. The flavor is brilliantly burnt malt, smoky and warm like good whiskey. The alcohol is present but meshes very well with the smoky malt flavors. The malt is bready and sweet. There might be a lingering citrus flavor. It’s burnt but smooth. Marvelous. The feel is very good. The carbonation goes well with the style and there’s little stickiness from the alcohol. I very much enjoyed this big, complex stout.
