Bottle at home with Lyoli. Hazy yellow with a fading, white head. Strong lemon-lime nose. Juicy flavor, pretty sweet, a little syrupy and artificial. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Slightly crisp to finish but the syrupy sweetness neuters the bite. There is a bit of bitterness, kind of rindy, that seems a touch out of place. Drinkable, but only just.

Bottle. Pours lemon juice. Nose of lime juice, lemon candy, saccharin, dietary sugar and musk. Taste of lime water, dietary sugar, saccharin and lemon candy. Like drinking lemon juice without the acidic tartness. Poor.

Light wheat body with a yellow colur, lots of foamy head but it doesn’t last too long. Aroma is lemon juice and wheat beer funk with some sharp sugar notes popping through from the carbonation. Taste is like lemon soda with wheat beer detergent notes - it’s like the worst of both worlds. I was ready to be pleasantly surprised by this one - and I wasn’t.

(bottle) cloudy pale yellow, small white head; aroma of citrus, flavour is artificial, soda like, rather unattractive, diet soda aftertaste - nasty, any beer that has artificial sweeteners added is disgusting

Bottled 25cl "Hoegaarden Citron" (BB 04/2011)
Very, very pale yellow, hazy color, not much head. Sweetish aroma of lemon and raisins, similar to Finnish sima. Crisp carbonation. Watery palate. Sweet, almost sugary, flavors has lime, banana, raisins - artifical. Strange, but it doesn’t taste much like Hoegaarden but same like some German lime-radlers. Lemonade.

Can. Fake lemon aroma (smells like Pledge). Pale yellow color with giant head. Sweet fake lemon/lime flavor - minimal carbonation - not good at all.
