Shared tonight by Mike, I think, Thanks for the opportunity. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden/amber color with a smallish off white head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Smells really sweet with lots of caramel and brown sugar, a fair amount of light sweet fruit, a bit of ethanol, and hints of oak and bourbon. The flavor is quite sweet with sugary caramel and light sweet fruits along with a solid shot of vanilla oak and bourbon. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. Nice barleywine, if not a bit on the sweet side. Some age should do wonders for this brew.
1/27/2014 2013 batch: Bottle picked up on a whim from the Francestown General Store. Pours a dark brown color with nice ruby highlights and a creamy off white head that doesn’t last very long. Aromas of caramel and brown sugar with bits of bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, and wood tannins. The flavor is sweet with dark sugary maltiness. The oak and alcohol cut through the sweetness quickly with some dark fruits and vanilla rounding out at the edges. Medium to thick body with a moderate to low level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. Decent brew, but the alcohol is a bit present. Decent brew right now, but some time would probably make this a fantastic brew.

22oz bottle pours a translucent ruby red with some ringing white head. Nose is oranges, caramel, whiskey, vanilla, lots of bourbon. Flavor has a ton of bourbon too, vanilla, coconut, caramel sugary, orange, lime. Almost had some coconut cream pie. Full bodied, sweet and astringent finish.
