Bottle. This was one of my beers of choice when I was in college. So I may rate it a little higher then it deserves, but then again it is a good beer. Nice balance in the flavor. Great amber color. Just a good beer.

Notes from January 2011 BB: APR 04 11 :D Rounded pint glass. Pretzels at the ready. Spotless ruby brown body. Inch & change of flimsy, off-white head. Smells of soggy malt & a bit of maple. Edges of sharp earthy/spicy hops, though pretty reserved. Sharp, subtly bitter start. Sugary middle, then closing hard with crackers. Earthy/dirt finish. Needs more bite. Carbonation is prickly, but constant. Hairy body. Alcohol jumps out at you every now & then. Easy.

Bottle in Kentucky. Last had this a decade or so ago. Red amber, small head, creamy corn and caramel nose. Pretty sweet and not too complex flavor, a little bit of earthy hops.

Bottle at home just grabbed since didn’t want to go dateless this Monday. Another odd one to rate so late in game. Dusty amber. Nose is caramel and fruit punch. Tastes of cherry, caramel, herbal, slight paper. Odd aftertaste.

Pours reddish amber with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste is malty with slight hop note punctuating throughout. Palate of earthy notes. Relatively plain and sweet brew.

Clear amber color with an off-white head and good retention. Decent lacing. Light caramel nose. Clean and smooth caramel malt flavor with a light roasted finish. Fairly flat mouthfeel. Crushable.

Pours copper colored with a light tan head. A fuller bodied flavor of malt and balanced by mild hops.

From old tasting notes. Nice copper red color with a medium tan head. Mildly sweet toasted malt aroma. Sweet toasted malt flavor fades quickly and becomes salty, then gassy. Light dry finish and aftertaste. Thin and watery.
