*Old rating. 2010. The beer is spicy, malty-fresh, slightly sweetish and not too pumpkin-like. Interesting, but a bit strange...

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Tom L. Clear amber. Sweet aroma with caramel, winter spices and a bit of honey. Sweet caramelly flavor with spices. Medium-bodied.

Pours from a bottle a nice amber with a thin white head with large bubbles. Nose is heavy spice, not much pumpkin, lots of allspice and cloves. Flavor is again light on pumpkin and with rather off-tasting spices. Finish is bitter, unpleasantly so. Meh.

Bottle from CBB in November 2012, rated from notes. A brownish amber pour for a nice mildly spiced ale. But I couldn’t detect any pumpkin flavor.

1 quart bottle from Bevmo, Salinas. Nose is light pumpkin, nutmeg, and caramel malt. Clear amber with a medium off white head. Flavor is light pumpkin spices and sweetness.

Cute little quart jug from Bev-Mo in Folsom, CA. Pours copper with a foamy beige head. Aroma is pie spice as advertised. Med minus body. It’s a little lacking body wise, but the spice is good, and that makes the beer seem more substantial. Easy drinker.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a fairly nice hazy orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sliding into the beer.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet roasty pumpkin with some light nuts and vanilla, clove, and cinnamon.
The taste was sweet and spicy with a nice touch of roasty/nutty vanilla.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me.
Overall pretty good pumpkin ale always worthy of coming back if available.

Drought. Amber color with small foamy beige head, pumpkin aroma (as expected), strong seetish pumpkin taste with low carbonation, longish finish. Pumpkin flavor is too strong for my taste.

Draft. Clear deep amber color, medium beige head. Aroma of very light spice. Taste is similar.
