Gulden Draak Brewmaster is een ode van de zesde generatie meesterbrouwer aan de vorige generaties brouwers van de brouwerij Van Steenberge, aan het vakmanschap van onze traditionele brouwkunst en met name aan de vijfde generatie brouwer: Jozef Van Steenberge, die zich rond het jaar 1975 verdiepte in de speciaalbieren, gecombineerd met de experimenten van de nieuwe ‘Craft beer world’.
Bij de Gulden Draak Brewmaster zullen de brouwers het basisbrouwsel van de Gulden Draak Classic laten rijpen op houten vaten afkomstig van gedestilleerde dranken, afhankelijk van de beschikbaarheid.

0,33 enhet fra supermercado "Peter Store", nightcap på balconasen i Funchal: klar gylden med en misunnelsesverdig skumkrone som varer så lenge det trengs og vel så det. Fiken og andre tørkede frukter, hetvin, noe eik/vanilje, muscovadosukker og diskret urtebitterhet. Lang ettersmak med utpreget velvære.

Color ámbar, turbia, espuma ligeramente amarillenta de retención media. En nariz es sublime, plátano maduro, pasas, vainilla, malta, caramelo. En boca entra amplia, dulce, cálida, llena de matices tan ricos y complejos como su aroma, alcohol perfectamente integrado. Sin hostias, una cerveza de puta madre.
Bottle from the LCBO Christmas selection. Pours a bice slightly rosey copper, minimal head. Rich thick malt, mildly cloying syrup, booze, some light esters of banana, a vauge mild bitterness on the finish. Really excellent.

330mL bottle. Pours murky gold with a white head. Sweet esters, bubblegum, caramel malts, toasted bread crusts, and golden raisins on the nose. Flavour has a ton of caramel and bubblegum up front, spicy Belgian yeast, golden raisins, good touch of whiskey. Chewy mouthfeel. Really nice smokey whiskey finish.

Bottle at home, from a random Albert Heijn. Pours deep copper and a finger off-white head. Nose is the usual yeasty-flowery Belgian aroma with a hint of woody, somewhat boozy touch. In taste it's sweetish upfront, but not the classic Belgian way I mentioned above, but more in a boozy-woody way, not overwhelmingly, just so much that it remains pleasant. Closes with long, warming and sweetish boozy finish. Has a surprisingly soft mouthfeel, light to medium body, easy to drink. Nothing extraordinary, but quite pleasant, plus it costs less than 2 quids.

Misted amber with a decent head. Rich dried fruits, spicy yeast, toasted malt, whisky, oak, vanilla, hop, warming alcohol, Sufficient body. Powerful stuff.

Various bottles. Aroma of strong dried fruit, oak, vanilla, malt, spicy yeast, caramel, nuts, a little candy sugar. Flavour is sweet and a little boozy. Body is medium to full with a sticky mouthfeel. Very decent BA variety.

Un nez bien malté accueillant des notes de fruits noirs, une base caramélisée et une légère pointe d’alcool.
Notes de dattes et de figues séchées.
De couleur ambrée foncée, fortement effervescente et presque parfaitement limpide.
La mousse est assez épaisse, crémeuse et persistante.
Piquante et caramélisée en entrée de bouche.
Elle recèle un bel équilibre caramel, fruits noirs et poivre.
Les houblons sont représentés par des accents feuillus et terreux.
La carbonatation est forte mais légèrement en deçà des standards Belges.
Absolument délicieuse malgré quelques manquements aux standards du style.

A well-malted nose with notes of black fruit, a caramelized base and a slight hint of alcohol.
Notes of dates and dried figs.
Dark amber in colour, strongly effervescent and almost perfectly clear.
The foam is quite thick, creamy and persistent.
Spicy and caramelized on the palate.
It has a beautiful balance of caramel, black fruits and pepper.
Hops are represented by leafy and earthy accents.
The carbonation is strong but slightly below Belgian standards.
Absolutely delicious despite some breaches of style standards.

Аромат очень богатый и яркий. Ощущаются сильные веяние от сухофруктов особенно от кураги. Очень много пряных ноток, немного цитрусовых, далее немного бананов а также меда особенно в конце. Конечно хмель и сухость от него ощущается уже в аромате. Цвет как курага спелая, пенка тоже неплохая, густая и белая. Вкус отличный очень ровный на протяжение всей дегустации. Тело не слишком плотное, но приятное для употребление больше чем одного бокала. Снова во вкусе курага и немного фруктовых ноток, очень много пряностей от солода скорее всего. При глотке сухость от хмеля, чем теплее пиво тем больше горькости. Послевкусие медовое с нотками сухофруктов. Легкая кислинка, в целом просто отличное пиво, действительно можно купить для праздников.

Bottle with cork 0,75ltr: Cloudy amber colored brew with an sweet bitter taste and with an nice little burning feel in the mouth. Hints of caramel, dried fruit, some whiskey, some vanilla. Only disappointment where is the dark colour?
