Xtreem English IPA & Lambic (Boon)

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. Has a fruity weak funky tart aroma with hoppy hints. Fruity tart funky flavor. Has a fruity funky tart citrus hoppy finish.

version of boon ( should i entry it here or add another entry ???? ) exclusivly for gents bierfestival ( guess where i drank it .. ) pours fuzzy yellow, small head . smell is extremely bad. sweat, in the worst way imaginable . like a homeless granny who has been on a workout-machine for the past hours, on speed ... damn this thing stinks ! taste is a bit bitter and ( thank god) a LOT better than the smell . but even than, its still not a good beer ... i know i’m not the biggest boonfan , but even than, this is not to be blamed at boon only ...

Enjoyed at the 4de Gents Bierfestival, 2013. The large bottle pours with a clear copper body with golden hues and supporting a thin white head. The aroma has sweet tangerine tanginess, a bit of cereal malts, soured citrus and sweaty slightly soiled socks. Kind of nice in its own way. The taste tries to ramp up into dry puckering tartness but it gets tamped down by the IPA side of the equation. I get citrusy tangerine and lime that are sweetened some by sugary malts but still manage to pull into more and more hop bitterness to midway. Toward the finish a thin ribbon of soured citrus and funk come to the surface. Interesting brew.

Bouteille @ 4de Gentse Bierfestival. Orangée, col blanc fin. Arôme présente ce bouquet lambic typique qui ressort sans pour cela dominer. Cela laisse de la place aux houblons pour se faire une place et agrémenter le tout de qcq notes fruitées et une pointe de feuillu. Palais reste assez sec, note de grains au profil type de lambic. Petit ajout suret, léger sucré avec ce côté levure et un houblonnage qui reste un peu victime du lambic.

18/VIII/13 - 66cl bottle @ 4de Gents Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2013-893) Thanks to my wife for sharing the glass!

Little cloudy pale orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: very sourish, lemony, some hay, bit zesty, grassy hops. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very sour, lemony, vinegar almost, unpleasant bitterness, not fruity at all, very dry. Aftertaste: lemony, dry, bitter ending. Interesting, but I prefer these styles not blended. A very bitter lambic or a sour IPA are not really doing the trick for me.

65 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2013. Blended with Boon lambic. Hazy orange with a white head. Nose is rotting oranges, barn, cleaning products, basement, sweet lemon. Taste is citrus, sour cleaning agents, light tartness, artificial lemon, bitter herbs, old oranges, touch spices. Flat. Was hoping to like this one but alas not for me.
