Silky and soft porter with an exciting malt profile that makes this beer especially easy to drink. Deliciously sweet and soft aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate and cocoa. Full bodied on the palate, with rich coffee and chocolate flavours in the taste.

5 July 2019. At Dok Brewing Festival. Cheers to Anke & Ghent beer crew! Hazy dark brown-black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of toast, coffee roast, earth, walnut, fondant, dried dark fruits. Taste is light malty sweet, hints of chocolate & nuts, making way for the bitter core of toast, coffee & tobacco, creamy touch gives a mocha impression, whilst dark fruits provide a sourish accent. Dry, toasty, herbal hoppy finish, lingering coffee, earth & nuts. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Firmly 'black' stuff indeed.

Sampled at The Hague Craft. Almost clear dark reddish brown with dark beige head. Roasted malts, quite some dark chocolate, soft mineral notes, creamy malts, a bit of coffee too. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with slick oily feel. Nice.

Classically (English) intended porter by this well-known Estonian craft brewery. Creamy, dense, papery lacing, stable, pale yellowish beige head, very dark mahogany brown, approaching black but still largely translucent under bright light. Aroma of roasted walnuts, liquorish candy, ‘fondant’ chocolate, black tea, coffee grounds, dry cookies. Sweetish onset with a touch of dried fig, very light umami accent, lively and somewhat sharpish carbonation, light sourish undertone; smooth, oily nuttiness with a hard-caramelly side but mostly toasted bitter, even coffeeish roastedness in the end, with a spicy hop kick and lingering umami and nutty flavours. Roasted enough to qualify as a dry stout so not a brown English porter to me, but well-made and to the point, if a tad overcarbonated perhaps.
