Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

Draught from the jeffrey. Fruity citrusy hop aroma off of clear amber orange pour. Decent malts, honestly pretty damned good.

Bottle. Pours a near clear light orange with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has earthy grass and earthy citrus with a touch of flora as well as a touch of sweet grains backing. Flavor has earthy citrus up front with a bit of resin and some sweet grains in the finish.

Pours a golden amber from a bottle with a thick pillowy white head, slowly dissipating leaving lots of lacing. Nose is intensely floral with a touch of hay. Flavor is also floral, but starting to throw in a bit of fruits, like peaches in syrup kind of a thing. Sweet but not cloying, ending on a bitter note. Full mouthfeel, slightly oily but not in a bad way. Very good beer.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 8/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fair amount of dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent east coast IPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Draught. Clear rich yellow with medium sized creamy white head, floral aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish fruity taste, long finish with perfume like flavor. Too fragrant and not hoppy enough.

Bottle at home. Clear golden orange with wonderful nose of evergreen and citrus. Tastes of rich pine, caramel, orange rind, resin, touch of aerosol spray but quite nice. High carbonated and drying finish.
