Bottle. Slight gusher. Orange blonde colr. Coreander and orange peel in the aroma. Spicy lemony flavor with coreander. Thinnish and sharp. Some yeasty notes. Satisfyingly balanced.

11/11/2018 @ sample of 33cl bottle on Vergeten Bieren tasting @ Brouwerij Smisje shared with Koen and the brewer himself. 2012 version. Clear blonde, medium white head. Nose is still fresh, fruity. Taste is malts, citrus, orange, wattery cognac undertone.

Somewhat special witbier, at least bolder than the Hoegaarden standard, with fresh orange peel used and dominating the nose, very refreshing, fluffy and soft mouthfeel, wheat sourishness, lots of citrus again but not over the top, coriander as usual, very thirst-quenching. Has more body than I’m used to from the style. Very good example, firm and characterful.

A great looking brew with a 2 finger head of foam sitting on a slightly hazy golden liquid.

Spicy as heck with big coriander, cloves, wheat and orange.

The taste is a tad milder than the smell. More of a balance between the spices and the orange fruit. Still, it’s testing my palate.

Nice mouth feel for the style.

This bursts with flavour but it isn’t something that I’d seek out again.

Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown squat bottle poured into a glass. Pours light amber with off-white head. Tangy aroma, medium body, well carbonated, and thick small bubble lacing. Taste is tangy, coriander, apples, over ripe oranges, and spicy. Rich flavor, but just ok.

Bottle: Cloudy, yellow-orange...floaties....tall, frothy white head. Sour orange aroma. Taste is tart, dry, sticky orange/banana/peach.... Ok, just a bit too tangy.

Thx. to tderoeck (Tim) for this one // 33 cl. bottle sampled @ Tim’s De Molen & assorted beers tasting // Belgian wit for export made by the brewery with probably the most confusing name issues // hazy, very hazy muddy milk brown with some bubbles for a head // smells of sweet, old muddy Belgian yeast, lightly lactic, old spices, stale & soggy // this is clearly not the youngest of bottle // 3 years maybe more? // since the brewer opted not to put a BBF date on this one, I can assume that it is still in perfect condition according to the brewer & will always be so // taste is bitter lactic spices, old Belgian yeast, soggy bread, herbs, old peel, band-aid, medicine, old yoghurt, lots of chalk & plaster // strongly yeasty mouthfeel // this is one of those old, small brewery Belgian // ok in the sample that I got, glad I didn’t have to drink a whole bottle of this

Very hazy brown colour, white head. Aroma of yeast, moulding cheese, like a Gouda you left too long in the fridge, some herbal notes. Spicy flavour, cheese notes.
Quite disappointing, I have a higher esteem of this brewery. Guess it was infected, warrants a re-rate.
(From 33cL bottle at the DMT @ Tim’s living, Gent. Thanks for sharing, tderoeck!)
