Purchased at a random grocery store in Honolulu, HI; enjoyed at a friends place with two days left on my Hawaiian vacation, dreading going back to frozen Chicago. Appearance is a lightly cloudy darkish gold with a huge frothy white head that nicely laces to the glass. Aroma is pretty great, nice hoppy profile with a bready malt undertone, also light spruce notes. Taste goes down nice and hoppy, English hops are most prominent, and gives it a bitter yet drinkable flavor. I’m liking this one a lot, one of the best IPA’s I’ve had in a while.

Can: Pours a hazy peace juice color topped with a large, sticky & soapy off-white head. The nose is aromatic; citrus and pine. It’s sweet and has enough pine resin to just about cover up a light bit of bready malt. The taste is a straight forward dry-hop wallop. To me it hides everything else. Lingering bitters in the tail. I haven’t had anything like this in a while… it’s a welcome change. Nice effort, but at $3/can...

From a 355ml can on 14/10/2014. Pours a cloudy golden with a medium to biggish fine white head. The nose is relatively muted with a bit of fruit and some minor floral notes presenting. Flavour wise, this is quite a sweet one with lots orange apricot and marmalade up front, followed by a solid, dry lingering hop bitterness. The palate is quite creamy and the carbonation is average. This is a bit unusual - it almost has a dessert like character. But I like sweet, so I’m not complaining. Very nice.

Can. Hazy light amber with a thin head. The aroma is fresh pine with dried orchard fruits. On the palate there is medium bitterness that is somewhat resinous, a fair bit of chewy malt, and a little alcohol in the finish. While the dry-hops come across fairly fresh for such a widely-distributed beer, the flavour hops are somewhat cheesy. All told I am certainly enjoying this on my cliffside perch in Huelo, but taken out of context it’s just an ok IPA.

can from pivnizub - cheers! Golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty base that supports the fruity hops very well. Resiny, grassy, with a fruity touch.

Can. A- Tropical fruits, papaya, mango, piney. A- Golden orange color, clear liquid, white head. T- Piney, citrus, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, long finish. O- A pretty standard but decent IPA. Tons of tropical citrus on the nose, however that doesn’t translate over into the taste all that much. Pretty piney and bitter.

US, can from Antenna America. Served in a pint glass. It pours a tad paler than I’d ideally like in an IPA but it is in the right orange-gold ballpark with a thick creamy off-white head of foam that lingers as well as leaves tons of lacing behind. The nose is a fantastic blend of tropical & citrus fruits, nice hoppy herbal notes also come into play-good stuff. The taste is not as strong as the nose. It’s smooth body is still pleasant with resin, pine cone, citrus and a fairly strong mouth puckering bitterness. A pretty good IPA that would make a great palate cleanser.
