Corsendonk Blond is een goudkleurig, kristalhelder, levendig, Belgisch abdijbier, met rijkelijk fijne witte schuim. Rond evenwichtig verfrissend met een licht bittere gehopte afdronk.

25 cl. draft @ bar next to Kalmthoutse Heide. Clear lighter golden with a creamy white head. Aroma is mellow esters, slightly sweet with yeast, light hay and spices. Taste is esters, spicy yeast, somewhat sweet, touch sugar and banana, candy sugar and slightly malty. Light body, touch too light, slightly metallic. Quite enjoyable as an alternative to a pale lager which is what this aims for I suppose. Far better than the brown one which oddly has the same score on RB.

On-tap in the excellent t’ Pumpke, Valkenburg, Holland on 21 Oct 2012. Thought it was the usual Corsendonk Angus until I spoke to the barman half way through the glass. I then started to take more interest in the drink before me. Misty orange body with a full, creamy covering of foaming bubbles. The bar is very dark, so the look may well be slightly incorrect! The nose was a blend of Belgian yeastiness and mildly malty. The taste a semi-sweet and fruity, with a crisp, sharp finish. Don’t know how common this is, but I’ve never seen it before and I travel to Belgium/Holland fairly often: so if you see it, try it, you may never see it again!
