Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed. With 6 pounds of hops per barrel, Palate Wrecker is officially the hoppiest beer in the ring. Our Double IPA is the result of a complex and innovative double-brewing process that is exclusively ours. First, there is a single infusion mash and subsequent boil at 65 IBU with Columbus and Centennial hops. Then, a second duplicate mash using the 65 IBU wort instead of water and a second 65 IBU boil using the same hop schedule. The result is a higher gravity beer with kettle caramelizing in place of crystal malts and an elevated hop flavor and bitterness that might not be achieved with the same amount of ingredients in a single brew.

Bottle from Midtown Wine. Pours a clear copper with a finger of foam. Big resiny nose with caramel and piney grass. Some honey on the palate, malty, bready sweetness. Feels kind of heavy. Big piney bitterness that hits mid-palate and lingers through til the finish. Big and bitter, but feels a bit heavy. Older bottle I suppose as well.

Bottle. Golden color. Aroma of bitter stingy resinous hop, caramel, citrus, pine and malt. Taste has really bitter resinous hop, citrus, herbal pine, grapefruit and a heavy hop burn. Quite the pallet wrecker indeed, nice.

Appearance- amber and fairly clear, some bubbles, a big, solid off-white head. Aroma- lots of hop resin and tropical fruit, malt, orange juice, pineapple, hint of caramel. Taste- hop bitterness dominates, juicy pineapple, bitter orange, honey-glazed fruit, hops, quite a solid malt presence, full and clingy mouthfeel. Exceptionally bitter lengthy finish. Hints of fruitcake. Very good.

Off white head stayed on rustic orange, still body. Huge hoppy aroma with bitter/sweet citrus & candy. Medium to full body. Thick, sticky, syrupy & tangy back. Full on hoppy flavours with malt, bitter pith, grapefruit & slightly acidic.

355ml bottle. Crystal clear amber colour with a frothy two finger off-white head. Aroma: hoppy - resin, fruit, pine. Taste: very resinous, piney, ripe fruits, caramel, malt. Very bitter, some sweetness but too much bitter hops for it to balance out. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not bad by any means but this type of DIPA doesn’t really do much for me personally now.

Bottle From Beer Revolution, Hay on Wye, Powys, consumed at Bearded Theory Festival, Saturday 27th May 2017 it was windier and cloudier today after yesterday’s amazing weather. Another difficult one to determine the colour and appearance through a green plastic drinking vessel but i’m guessing it’s hazy dark gold with a white head. Fruits with a good sweetness from the off, yes it’s very hoppy but the malt does soften and balances this out very well. A touch resiny and citrussy, it’s a really good fruity beer, not too dissimilar to Ruination. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

On tap at N.E. Tap House Grille Deep golden color with a long lasting frothy off white head. Rich tropical earthy resinous dank hops on the nose with bits of bready and light caramel to round it out. Flavor is a hint on the sweet side but the onslaught of hops balances that nicely. Moderate resinous earthy bitterness. Pretty tasty beer.
