Bottle from The Drinkery, Londonderry NH. Aroma is very hoppy--resin, floral, grassy, herbs but, surprisingly, there is also a malty bread, yeasty dough and a little bit of cheese smell. Appearance is hazy light brown with finger-width off-white creamy head with fair retention and mild lacing. Taste is initial mild sweetness in an almost unfinished wort way which is then battered by tons of bitter. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, lively carbonation and mostly bitter but lightly citrusy finish. Overall, a complex aroma with a pretty nice look and pleasing palate that just isn’t my cup of tea in terms of taste.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy bronzed color with a slight orange tint along the sides of the glass. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Light lacing speckles and slides into a nice spiderweb clingy-ness.
The smell has a sweet grapefruit over top of a light caramel malt, and then a lingering grassy to citrus rind bitterness.
The taste has a bittersweet combination of sorts of grapefruit rind, pith and a super dry bitter citrus aftertaste leading to a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice session to sipping quality about it. Carbonated nicely as a DIPA, bitterness punch overtakes the carbonation as it should.
Overall, this DIPA does everything it should and lives up to its name. I’d have again.

Refrigerated 12 oz. squat brown bottle poured into a glass. Orange with small off white head. Aroma is dank/malt, medium body, low carbon.action, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is dank hops, pine hops, malt backbone, and bitter finish. Hop Bomb.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle. While I like hops, I feel like the "smash you over the head with hops", "stuff hops down your throat/pants", "convert your car so it requires beer with >90 IBUs as fuel" craziness is a little much. Calm down, brewers. Regardless of my feelings on the subject, this is a good, very hoppy imperial IPA.

Old rating. Pours orange, with a big creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts with grain and caramel, as well as bitter hops with pine. Flavour is bitter hops, with resin, pine and orange peel. Lingering bitter finish.

Amber to copper colored, small white head. Aroma of caramel malts, pine and citrus, very hoppy. Taste medium to strong sweet caramalt, very hoppy, pine and grapefruit, some tropical fruits, resin. Quite bitter and dry finish with a lasting aftertaste. Boozy. Medium to full bodied, moderately oily.

Bottle. So this is what 149 IBU’s feels like… eagerly awaited I finally grabbed a fresh bottle at Brewer’s Haven. Great clarity in a golden orange pour and topped with a thick and creamy sandy head. The nose is a little subdued, imo, a blend of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine. It’s potent, but a smooth bitterness. Sort of resembles a syrupy citrus and tropical fruit and piney hop bomb. Lingering hoppy bitters, but not edgy. It’s loaded with hops and bitterness, but it really doesn’t scream bitter. Quite drinkable.
