Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford – as “Classic Mild”. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s malts in the aroma plus some hints of dark fruits. In the mouth it has a creamy texture and is slightly sweet. Flavours of malts, roast coffee and cocoa. Plus traces of chocolate and raisins. Finish is bitter sweet. This is a pretty good mild.

Handpull cask at the Fountain, Walsall as Titanic Classic Mild. Dark brown and slightly translucent. Liquorice, caramel malts, slate in the aroma. Simple sweet taste with a bit of an herbal note mid-sip and a chalky bitter finish. Fuller body than most milds. Really decent stuff.

Cask @ Brewery Tap House, Chester [270115]
Black, lots of ruby light through, beige head
Aroma of soft dark fruits, not much else
Taste of soft dark caramel, soft dark fruits, dab of dark toffee, bit of candy puff, fairly fruity malts, not much dark malts
Palate - Thin body, bit too thin, soft sweet. Finish as main flavour, fairly quick finish
Overall - Found this a bit disappointing, very average.
