Blessed be! Our ridiculously big, hoppy I.P.A. returns to the rapturous exaltations of worshippers far and near.
Featuring Simcoe, Amarillo, and Columbus hops at an unheard of rate of over three pounds per barrel, with American pale and Belgian caramel malts providing a malty but dry pedestal upon which this hop fest rides until its long, lingering,hop-bittered finish. Beware this vengeful, Old-Testament God. Say your prayers…

Aroma of malts, caramel, sweet fruits, raisins, hops. Flavour is sweet malty caramel and fruity, leading to a moderate bitter dry finish. Very much on the sweet malty side of DIPA.

A hazed reddish copper brown ipa with a thick frothy lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with dank resinous hops, light sulfur, a bit of treacle, pleasant. In mouth, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, resinous hops, alcohol warmth, light coffee, pleasant. Bottle from June 2012.

Is this even considered a DIPA by today’s standards? Not that’s it bad. Red pour. Nose is toffee and coffee. Tastes of coffee milk syrup, red fruits, todfee, red fruit, earth, grapefruit, and orange peel. Sweet light bitters and hint of plastic on finish. Odd duck

Treated as an American Strong Ale, this was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a semi-dark red color with a thin white head that dissipated at a nice pace. Messy lacing ran around the glass nicely.
The smell started off with some big smooth toffee to caramel sweet malts. Ruddy leafy tobacco flavors come in and dry out the aroma.
The flavor copies the smell nicely. Definitely, dry tobacco, toffee and caramel over top of some citrus and piney hops. Dried tobacco/citra aftertaste and smooth dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice smooth sipping quality about it.
Overall, this was a good American Strong ale that I think I could come back to.

650 ml bottle purchased at the brewery. Amber like color with some lasting head. Aroma is caramel toffee note, pine and citrus like hops.
The body of this beer is thick, sticky and sweet texture. Just a huge amount of caramel, toffee and sugar. The hops are here without question, pine and grapefruit with lasting bitterness after the sip. Honestly this brew feels dated, like in 2005 or 2006 this was a big killer brew, now it just seems like a overly sweet, sticky, massively hopped malt bomb. I’m leaning away from any IPA with a caramel malt base, I prefer a lighter clean grain bill.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Nikki's Liquors, 4/16/15
Aroma: The aroma is a toffee/caramel, some strong hops as well, pine, resin, earth, and a little berry
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish color, with a small fizzy/frothy beige head and drippy/streaky lace
Flavor: Has a nice, pretty balanced, the malty flavor balances out the big hop bitterness nicely
Palate: The body is medium-plus, nice and smooth feel, soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I really enjoyed this one. This is a very nice Imperial Red with a ton of flavor to it. It's more bitter than it is malty, but the balance is there to make the flavor really quite nice. Heck of a beer. Nice job here by CBC.

Bottle. Red amber color. Aroma special malts, caramel, honey and fruit. Taste some wine, malts, dried fruit, warm and much bitterness in the aftertaste.
