Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Very middle-of-the-road pale lager, looks the part being clear and golden with a bubbly white head and some bready malt and grass on the nose. Light bodied, some sweet malt and grassy bitterness but with a dull front where you'd want some crispness.

500ml can. Pours a clear pale gold with a thin, fizzy, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Mild sweet aroma of grainy pale malt, corn and grassy hops. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, lemon and grassy hops in a dry, bitter, slightly metallic finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Not great, but I've had worse.
