Bottle (from etre). A gusher! (but I guess that is not uncommon for 'tome). Pours amber with beige head. Aroma is sweet, spices, tome funk, malt, fruits. Flavor is sweet and bitter, medicinal, fruit, funk, brett, apricots, sugar, spices. Finish is sweet and funky. Overall: another banger from 'tome, too bad about the gushing tho (-2 to overall).

I'm surprised that the low ratings. It's not one of their best, but Fantome still raises the bar with this one. Very much a nice fall seasonal, it features a dark stone fruit element, with raisins and dates. Finishes semi-sweet, with a nice mouthfeel, low carbonation but enough to support the malts. Very cloudy, a lot of sediment, amber-brown.

One of Fantôme’s spiced farmhouse ales, this one inspired by the American pumpkin ale tradition and spiced with cloves, cardamom and white pepper; 75 cl bottle from Être Gourmet. Irregular but stable, coarse, thick, egg-white head, slowly diminishing over a misty, warm peach blonde beer with deep amberish tinge. Aroma of indeed a lot of cloves, cardamom and white pepper much less obvious, piercing through a typical Fantôme profile of soaking wet peanuts, soap, hay, tomato or indeed pumpkin soup, oranges, soggy bread, canned apricots, apple peel, peach. Fruity, expectedly estery onset, sweetish with a sourish undercurrent, hinting at peach, dried plum and some vague banana, fizzy carbonation but in a gentle, refined way, soft fluffy bready maltiness with a light soapy side note as well as sweetish nutty and caramelly colours. Towards the finish, strong clove-like spiciness shows up, the actual cloves of course, but accentuated by phenols as well; cardamom too appears, white pepper again remains in the background and is probably not really detectable if you do not know it is in here. Earthy, bready, spicy and yeasty finish is dried by a rooty, spicy, lingering hop bitterness. Typical Fantôme: a bit ‘messy’ (not unlike the brewery itself I guess), but packed with flavour, original and very pleasant to drink. I do not normally like spiced Belgian ales that much but this one does a good job at it, but skip it if you don’t like cloves.

Many thanks for this beer to tderoeck. Po wyjeciu korka po prostu tryska jak fontanna. Rozlalo sie sporo na stolik. Piana poczatkowo szybko rosnie barwy zoltej by jeszcze szybciej opasc, silnie metne o kolorze brudnej pomaranczy. Aromat naprawde niezly woda kolonska i kwiaty wrzosu. W smaku zupa dyniowa, miod wrzosowy, biszkopty namoczone w jajkach i burgundzkim polwytrawnym winie. No i wszech obecne tu pomidory, wlasnie dojrzale pomidory. Bardzo ciekawe i nietypowe piwo, na minus obecny smak alkoholu co prawie zawsze daje sie doskonale ukryc w belgijskich piwach, tu tego sie nie udalo. Thanks Tim for this Extreme beer.

Erfrischender, süß-säuerlicher Antrunk. Eher milde Hefigkeit, trocken, rund. Später würziger, vergleichsweise spritzig, langer süßlicher Nachhall, trocken. Gut. 7/9/9/9/11/9
