Bottle 33 cl. Pours a blackish, deep brown with an orange hue and a small, rough, beige head. No real roastiness in the nose, more pruney, raisins and sweet licorice. Rich and sweet, now getting some roasty character while still plenty of sweet licorice. No real bitterness. Pleasant enough if more of an Imperial Stout Light. 250625

Bottle at restaurang Hov, Östersund. Firstly, what's the naming about? Imperial stout? Felt more like a foreign extra stout or really a porter which is surely where the 'Baltic' name came from? And the extra tags on their new packages is a bit naff....anyway, the beer!! A very lovely way finish a meal, not very deep at all but just enough to be a slow drinker. Lovely colour, cola pour. Passes nicely as an after dinner coffee replacement. Bottle from System. I would keep the rating the same, even if I appreciated it much more in terms of depth. There are some nice smokey portery/stouty flavours in there. Can come off a bit dusty. Still undecided if i love or am ambivalent.

Fra flaske på fellestreff RBHD/Bryne Fråholdslag, Bryne aug-17: brunsvart med ok skum. Syrlig kaffe, moccabønner, mørke fløtekarameller og hint av solbær. Mild bitterhet i tørr og lett syrlig ettersmak.

From bottle at shared tasting at Bryne with RB/HD and Bryne fråhaldslag 18.08.17. Mahogany. Pale brown head. Aroma of sweet dark malt, dark malt and chocolate. Taste of mocca beans, dates, dark chocolate and herbs.
