8.6 is a special blond beer with its own distinctive character. A powerful and strong beer with a golden haze, pleasantly sweet and viscous in its aftertaste. Full in body giving a rich mouth filling sensation. 8.6 Original has a fruity palate thanks to a sublime fermentation process. Expressly fruity and flowery on the palate, warm and full of character. Strong in alcohol content, an elegant, clear blond beer. Complex in flavour, beautifully balanced. Brewed with natural mineral water from Bavaria’s own spring and the best barley malt, wheat and hop.

Can: Golden, lazy carbonation, poor fluffy white layer; light sweet corny-grainy nose with a touch of alcohol and some vegetables; medium to full bodied, mainly sweet-alcoholic flavour; alcohol in the sweet-grainy finish, traces of lemons detectable. Very simple brew.......

10th June 2008. Super strength tinned lager. Clean looking amber gold beer. Surprisingly moderate carbonation. Dry crisp lager with a bitter brandyish malt finish. Heady!

50cl can @ Italy. Pours clear amber reddish with a creamy white head and lacings. Nose is fine: Caramel, bread, alcohol and grain. Taste is Syrupy sweet. Medium body. Cloying with a slight alcohol burn on the tongue and on the way down my throat.

Pours nicely, decent head, good clear golden colour. Aroma is sweet, maybe some grains. Taste is syrupy, weird bitterness, followed by dryness. Mouthfeel isn’t so cool. Not so great, really.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is metallic, hoppy, maizeish and alcoholic. Flavour is alcohol, malts and some maize. Overly sweet thing.

Can. (thx to Papsoe for sharing) Clear, golden body and a white head. Fruity and sweet nose where the alcohol is rather evident. Sweet flavor with some maltyness and fruityness. Medium, sweetish, rather flat and a bit dusty mouthfeel. Typical get-drunk-fast beer. (071004)

(Can 44 cl) Courtesy of Doggythedog. Clear, deep golden with a creamy, white head. Sweetish, malty nose. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with very sweet malts and some slightly sticky brewing cereal. Not much bitterness but an alcohol burn in the finish. 051007

Thought it would be nice to compare Biere Special (7.9 ABV) with this one so I did it. Poured dark golden to orange body, a bit darker than its brother. Nice aroma of citrus hops with sweet malts. Alcohol is felt same as in reduced version, not more as I was expecting. Only a bit in the finish maybe. Has more filled body than 7.9 version, too. This is also less carbonated. However, aftertaste is not so nice and I don’t know what I’ve seen so good in this beer two months ago, however it’s fine for me, not awful as to most people here. A bit better than 7.9 version.

Pours orange/golden body with moderate pale yellow head. Quite impressive aroma with sweet malt on one side and some grassy/citrus hops on the other. Flavor is very sweet malty and alcoholic. Finish really nice sweet, but alcoholic which also ruins impression of aroma. Very good beer for my taste, although too sweet. 6/4/6/4/13

440ml can.Golden with a loose frothy white head; slightly malty aroma; very sweet with bubblegum flavours; dry and warming finish. Not as cloying as some super strength lagers and quite pleasant to drink.
