De natuurlijke mix van Amstel bier en citroenwater. Amstel Radler is dubbel verfrissend en bevat 2% alcohol. Lekker voor na het sporten of een andere inspanning.

330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with lots of carbonation but little head. Aromas of lemon meringue and lite beer. Flavors of very sweet lemon juice. Thick for lemon juice, thin for beer.

Pours a hazy pale yellow color, topped with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is sweet and lemony. Similar is the taste. Sweet, a bit sugary with some lemony presence and a bit of citric feel. Not bad for a radler.

12oz bottle. I must have been sitting on this bottle for a year and it still holds up fine. Cloudy rey-yellow body. Head fades away after a few minutes. Straight up lemonade tones. Very sugary, but kind tasty and refreshing. A nice alcohol soda..but for a beer it is pretty weak.

The big breweries of the Low Countries are apparently attempting to popularize the old German Radler concept nowadays, which I am not a fan of to say the least - and the name Amstel does not sound promising either. Thin, off-white, loose and unstable head, cloudy lemon yellow colour with vague greenish hue and clear fizz. Expected lemonade aroma, ascorbic acid, tons of white sugar, lemon extract, a weakly chalky touch, and perhaps a very faint suggestion of grains underneath, but too weak to be described in more detail. Sugary sweet onset paired with the same artificial lemonade-like citrus effect you’ll find in a can of Fanta, but with slightly less fizzy carbonation; ascorbic acid abounding, again that very weak suggestion of grains underneath and a faint, but notable hint of bitterishness in the finish, I suppose an echo of the hops combined with something vaguely chemical; needless to say, the sugary sweetness sticks to the teeth, mouth and throat. Quite okay as a soda pop, like the other mass-produced Radlers, and that’s about it. Not the most off-putting ’beer’ I ever had, just not suitable for anyone looking for a refreshing beer. Very suitable for anyone looking for a refreshing lemonade, though.
