At the end of a fabled week during the winter of 1980, in a fever-pitched Olympic stadium, one hockey game changed the course of American sports history. Barroom legend has it that the night before the underdog American team took to the ice with no chance of winning, world champion coach Herb Brooks took a sip of a bold and simple ale that inspired the bold and simple words that inspired a team to become legends. Now we ask you, what was the true miracle on February 2, 1980? We can’t be sure what the exact formula was for Brooks’ inspiration. But this IPA’s bold and aromatic blend of floral and citrus hard checks your nose and follows it up with a medium intense hop bitterness that doesn’t linger. We shot. We scored.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy light amber with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. Lots of hop aroma - starts like pine but goes citrus. Med body. There’s lots of hop over a nice caramel backbone. But the hop seems primarily resinous. Then at the finish it’s grapefruit rind. Passing challenging. Really good, really hoppy.
