Bottle at the Kernel Brewery. Big massive hop aroma. As SilkTork said, I could smell this all day. Just lovely. Opal Fruit flavours and sweetness in mouth. Yes lots of hops on finish, but its not overly bitter. You wouldn’t believe that this is nearly 10% abv. Lovely hop fruit. Could have been too sweet but not at all. Lovely in fact.

Bottle at home, 12th February 2012. Huge aroma, pine and tropical fruit, pours murky orange. Taste is full on, big tang, pine, pineapple, bitter marmalade, delicious. Nice palate and perfect carbo. This is as I hoped for a Double IPA, from the Kernel, got a big box full of this one, before I even tasted it!

Very hazy darkish amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Softish palate, slightly frothy and airy. Deep marmalade orange with some unexpected Nelson like filth and grapeyness. Subtler tropical fruits provide complexity and there is just a little aniseed spice of alcohol in the softish finish. Nicely joined up super rich DIPA, fingers crossed for more of these. The beer was perfectly complemented by black bomber cheese on digestives! Original rating 4.1

Boy this has developed well! Lovely tangy fruit salad flavours with tangy apricot, peach, melon, gooseberry and traces of lemon and orange. Superb!

Smooth creamy malt now dominates. Trace of caramel as well. Mild but rich orange marmalade provides some balance. Good DIPAs never die - they become great barleywines!

Multiple bottles at the Kernel Brewery. It pour cloudy deep orange, with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is refreshers sweets, sherbet, fruit salad, orange, juicy mango and some sweaty sock. The taste is sherbet, orange, fresh mango, peach, dried pineapple, resin, pine, a little alcohol warmth and earth, with a big bitter finish. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation and slightly oily mouth-feel. Delicious and dangerous.
