gravity cask at redlight redlight in Orlando, pours hazy amber with a thin off white head that isn’t there for long. Dark fruit and red wine aroma with some citrus notes. Flavor is mellow, the low carbonation is nice and allows more subtle notes of wood and dry wine to come forward. I really enjoyed this, it was a pleasant suprise.

11.2 ounce bottle from River City Cellars in Richmond, VA. Pours a dark hazy brown color with a medium offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of apple, candi sugar, brown sugar, yeast. Taste is apples, oak, dark malts, cherries, raisin, vanilla. Full bodied. Very faint booze but it is well hidden. Effervescent carbonation. Very good.

Bottle 11.2oz pours out a cloudy dark amber topped with a tan foam that was miles high. When I popped the cap this thing started to foam. Aroma tons of pit fruit and spices. Taste pretty upfront on the abv. a little sweetness to help calm some of the spice. A pass for me.

Pours clear copper with thin tan head. The aroma is… cripes! Yum! I get sweet aged ripe plums, cherries, fresh sherry, solid caramel and thick pummeling yum. The taste is smooth and almost sessionable giving up no sense of the ABV. Is this a 5.5% Old Ale? The taste tries to be rich and thick with English barleywine dark fruitiness but seems it comes up a bit short. Sure it delivers some sugar stewed raisins, plums and prunes to go along with a touch of sherry but never reaches the potential that the aroma seemed to be setting up. Still, yummy brew. Well done.

courtesy of ibrew2or3. Pours dark murky brown, no head. Aroma and flavor, caramel, grains, lost of roasted malts, heavy on the caramel side, followed by notes of chocolate. ABV is lighter than what the 12% would have it look like, finished with some apple puree mouthfeel.

11.2oz bottle. No head, uncarbonated as feared. Full on aroma of the Kulminator..as in old. Past its prime. Thick, brown sugary sweet. Tastes like 1986. Lots of cognac deepness. Ok, but kind of misses the spot.

Bottled. A murky unclear golden beer with no head. The aroma has strong notes of over ripe fruits as well as medium notes of sweet malt and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, wood, and oxidation. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

A deark reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. A pleasant aroma of sweet figs, licorice with musky notes. In mouth, a sweet licorice malt with molasses, raisins, and warming alcohol. Rich and smooth. Nice orange peels also notes. A classy BW from Belgium! Tasted with Probstk, July 16 2007.
