Bottle at Kerstbier Festival, Essen, Belgique, 18.12.10 This was my first hoppy beer of the day and it was a soft soapy hoppiness. Pouring light brown, soft carbonation, very interesting, quite pithy at times with grapefruit tingling the tastebuds. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Dark ruby to dark brown beer, creamy beige head, adhesive. Aroma: caramel, dried fruits, mocha. MF: ok carbon, medium body, creamy texture. Taste: mocha, coffee, hops, little caramel. Aftertaste: hops, red berries, coffee. One of the better beers during the festival.

Small yellow head, soon reduced to rim over red-brown beer. Perfumed-malty nose, brown candisugar, or rather, cassonade. Again very perfumed in the mouth, sugarsolution, missing complexity or depth, but with a faint spicy finish, and a bit roasted. Feels more carbonated than it looks (rather dead, but that might be the glass). Sweet, light and, sorry, unimportant.
